Controlled Burning Permits

Open Burning is prohibited in the corporate limits of the Village of Gays Mills. Controlled burning of grass or similar vegetation requires written approval. Burning Permit Applications are available online. 

Restrictions to Open Burning include burning barrels, leaf or brush piles and construction debris. Exceptions to the Open Burning restrictions include: 

• outdoor cooking fires,
• recreational fire pits (with some restrictions),
• ceremonial fires,
• controlled burning of grass or similar vegetation.
