K-12 Education

​The North Crawford School District offers educational opportunities to students from early childhood to 12th grade. In addition to Gays Mills, the NCSD also serves the villages of Soldiers Grove, Mt. Sterling, Bell Center, as well as parts or all of the following townships Akan, Clayton, Franklin, Freeman, Haney, Kickapoo, Marietta, Scott, and Utica. North Crawford School District also provides child care.

Driftless Folk School

Located throughout the Driftless Region,  the Driftless Folk School offers a variety of programs focused on preservation, promotion, and training of traditional crafts, homesteading, natural building, self-sufficiency, sustainability, animal husbandry, and wilderness skills.

Norskedalen Nature & Heritage Center

Located near Coon Valley, Norskedalen offers heritage classes, an outdoor classroom,  living cultural history museum, as well as periodic nature, heritage, and history presentations.

Located in Fennimore, Southwest Tech offers associate degree, technical diplomas, career pathway programs, and apprenticeship programs.
